Have been doing a bit of research for a project that involves dreaming in its most far-fetched sense.

To me, there’s nothing quite like NASA: the nostalgia, the dream, the excitement, the fear, the unknown.  Like today, there was so much in the global financial and social economies to contend with – however they took those challenges as well as this final unknown of the space race head on.  The courage and adventuresome wanderlust of the NASA program is something synonymous with the American Dream – a beacon of hope, wonder, and encouragement in uncertain times.

the United States was not built by those who waited and rested and wished to look behind them. This country was conquered by those who moved forward, and so will space

I, along with the rest of the world, stumbled across the brilliant food blog NeverSeconds from 9-year-old Veg this week.  Let me tell you, I am getting such a kick out of it.  The concept is simple, and brilliant.  Veg (a nom de plume) documents lunch every day with a rating scale that covers taste, portion size, price, health, and – most importantly – pieces of hair.

While her criticisms are valid, straightforward, and sweetly poised – Veg lays out the lunchtime commentary plain and simple, telling it like it is.  The view count on the blog has broken 500k, and grows by one per second. I absolutely love it. Here are some of my favorite moments from Veg so far:

I’m a growing kid and I need to concentrate all afternoon and I cant do it on 1 croquette.

Pieces of hair- none, not even one of mine.

It is crumbs in the photo by the cake, not flies.

Even though the blog is only eight entries old, Veg’s words have already reached the right ears and inspired some lunchtime reform – which is apparent in the improvement seen in the last photo. Can’t wait to see what other improvements those “hovering adults” come up with, as well as the lunches from around the world Veg has planned to feature in the days to come.

Will miss you over the weekend Veg!

While I have long been obsessed with the stunning revival of old-school glamour that Ulyana Sergeenko brought on the scene (first in her debut Fall 2011 collection, and succesfully again in her sophomore Spring 2012 pieces) – I’m equally as smitten with Alexander Terekhov‘s pieces.

Inspired by Grace Kelly, they combine the perfect amount of nostalgic grace, glamour and beauty with a modern woman’s chic edge.

We were with friends during the summer vacation on the Riviera, in Monaco, they were talking about Grace Kelly. At the same time I saw a lot of Hitchcock films, whom Grace Kelly was his muse. I wanted to create something for her, so this whole collection came about. But in the end it is a very sophisticated Grace Kelly. Theme collection – 1950s, although she was a princess later.

I like Grace Kelly, generosity and unique beauty. It sparkles with kindness.

Exquisite!

Whenever we hit a few weeks (or months) of full throttle work, with long days and short nights, I begin to feel the extreme and undeniable need to take off driving until I reach vast nothingness.  I think it has something to do with growing up under the vast expanse of the Texas sky – there simply just seems to be more room above your head to think out in the middle of nowhere.
